Salted Caramel Cashews 400g 2-for-$5 ($6.25/Kg, Expiry 22/7/16) @ Woolworths

570

Spotted this in Woolies Chaddie this morning, not sure if applicable in other stores reported as being available nationwide. Product of Vietnam, short dated (expiry 22/7/16)

Thought still a good deal for $6.25/kg cashews. Not sure how the flavour is like though!

  • Probably just a store specific deal, but thanks for sharing OP - $2.50ea is great! Im sure they'll taste fine. Unsalted would be better, but still a great bargain!

    • Wish it was available nationwide. I doubt it.

      • It was available at Gympie Woolies qld yesterday, and tasted ok

      • Available in my local woolies at Dogswamp, WA, same price

      • I will try my local woolies tis afternoon. TA

      • $3 normal price… you're not missing out on much

    • only $3 normally… So not a MASSIVE saving.

I feel like Cashews are out of fashion or something. All the facebook health freaks (sugar causes cancer?) are eating Almonds which used to be dirt cheap but now cost more than cashews and pistachios.

    • Almonds are cheaper at the moment due to the oversupply

just asked, this is nationwide !!

  • +1

They are cheap because they taste nasty!(Mind you my teenage son liked them) They were $3/pack last week and $5/pack about 3 weeks ago and they still have stock. They will be going in the dumpster next week.

    • i agree. bought a packet last week and they were pretty ordinary

    • Yeah, these things are very sickly sweet. Hard to eat more than 2-3 in a sitting.

      • +1

        2-3 cashews or 2-3 packs?

        • Cashews!

    • Mind you my teenage son liked them…They will be going in the dumpster next week.

That's not a nice way to describe the young bloke!!! :P

    • Agreed, tried and thought they were awful and I love caramel.

  • Maybe cook with them
    Stir fry?

    • You'll be throwing dinner in the bin if you do.

  • It seems like everyone grabs two of these at my local Woolies.

  • Check the use-by-date, you might be in for a surprise

  • I enjoyed them . Tasted pretty darn good

  • Do these taste like the salted caramel icecreams….but less liquidy?

    DO NOT BUY
These taste like SHIT, I bought some last month and returned them.

    • returned them?

      • +1

Yes, that's what you call it when you take something you have purchased back to the place you bought it from.

Were you unaware that you could return products that you were dissatisfied with for a refund/credit? Most major stores have very reasonable returns policies; sure, it's not nice to abuse them as some folks might try, but there's nothing wrong with using them appropriately (as the good Captain appears to have done here), and the staff are usually pretty cool with it.

    • ^ my view of them as well basically. it's like eating paper

  • Couldn't eat my whole pack and I'll normally eat most food. These do taste REALLY BAD.

    • I'm spewing, I really wanted to try them but none of my locals had any…mind you, I was gonna open the pack & try them before I went home & return them immediately if they were crap! ;)
