So would the $249 road bike or the Aldi $399 be the winner here?

Judging by the votes I would say the ALDI $399 road bike is the better deal so far.
Also the Reid Condor has a steel fork and the Aldi has carbon.

Hi mafmouf, it really depends what level of riding you're planning to do. The Aldi bike is good value at that price, but you don't get the support you would from a bicycle store.

For example, if you buy from Reid Cycles you get 1 year of free servicing, expert advice in-store (or a quick call away) and Australia's best bike warranty - which is a lifetime warranty on frame and forks + 2 years on parts.

If you were willing to spend a little more, you could also step up from the Aldi bike to the 2016 Reid Osprey Elite at $599, which comes with a Shimano Sora drivetrain, as well as a host of other improved specs. It's a bike developed by expert designers right here in Australia. Check it out: https://www.reidcycles.com.au/2016-osprey-elite-road-bike.ht…

Here's a video of a well renowned rider (albeit a little un-PC) reviewing the 2015 Osprey Elite: https://www.reidcycles.com.au/blog/2015/05/durianriders-ospr… - which is a lower spec than the 2016 Osprey Elite, but interesting to watch.

Damn thought it said 50% off

  • Bit off but maybe someone can give me a tip :) I'm looking to upgrade my MTB so looking for a good deal on a decent set (rigid tail, hydraulic brakes, Shimano XT derailleur, air shock absorbers). Year / make / model doesn't matter to me.
Budget would be up to $2k but the less the better - any tips would be appreciated :)

  • Hi Rep,
I tried purchasing but the site said that the Coupon Code in Invalid.
It is 10:35pm so still before the midnight deadline.

    • Hi Rep, I also had trouble with the code… can you message me with a 1 off code?

  • I'm looking at the UX 0 but my rider is only 142cm. I'm really leery of having him try riding that even though I remember riding full size bicycles as soon as I could reach the pedals when I was a kid.
