By this I mean you did no research, you just bought something because it sounded cool / wanted it at the time, only to find out later down the track you got a great deal. Obviously I am not referring to items you purchased from here on a whim, because we have all done that.
I actually can't think of a personal example at the moment but interested in others stories.
Once I bid on four Xbox 360 games for $0.99 and got it probably since the listing was spelt wrong. Had to pay for postage though

Ive bought lots of things i knew where very cheap.
but two come to mind.
1tb portable hard drive from aldi marked down to $30 i ended up pulling the hard drive out which is a WD blue and put it into my ps4 which was 500gb.
Nexus 7 2013 version for $80 on ebay it turned out to be perfect condition I resold it for $180 as i didn't want it to keep i had a larger tablet.
Bought a bulk lot of a dozen MS surface tablets for $200 off eBay. Advertised as not working. Thought I could maybe salvage 1 or 2. Just for a bit of fun/hobby/spare time play thing. Turns out that when the batteries are really flat that you just have to jiggle the power cord "just right" and then they start charging and work fine after that. 10 worked fine. the other 2 will be made into 1 working one - eventually. Sold most of them for $100 a pop. Gave the others to the kids to play with. Hobby + lucky purchase = profit.
I picked up a high end Apple Mac system BNIB for $1k many years ago in a business fire sale; when I realised exactly what I had (the auctioneer/liquidator had actually misrepresented it as a much lower spec model), and that it was well above my own personal requirements, I sold it on for $3k to a family who were stoked to be getting precisely what they were after at almost half the usual ~$6k price…well, everyone's a winner! :)
Bought a longboard off gumtree in 2010 as my friend had recently got one, didn't know anything about them at the time but paid $200 for a loaded dervish and thought I was maybe paying too much as it seemed like a lot, soon after learned they are $470 brand new.
I went to JBHIFI at Artarmon and saw a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard for iPad mini for what I thought was $32 on special, sticker displayed $ 32 and was the only 1 in shop. When I got to the counter it scanned at 0.32c. I was speechless.

Had none on me, and was buying other things. And before I was an ozbargainer :)
One time, my Aunty and I were at Kmart buying some kids shoes, they were marked down to $5 (can't remember the original price, but they were sneaker/runner types). Thought they were a bargain so we grabbed a couple. Turned out they were 50c only! Needless to say, she went back and grabbed few more pairs.
Well I bid $10 on a used lounge on eBay. Thought if I win it would just be a temporary solution. Well, no one out bid me and it's still going strong after four years.
