Anz Black car rental excess actual amount?

Anz don't disclose on their website the actual physical $ value of car excess cover they provide? Plus what excess they charge? Any ideas? Looking at Anz Black.

  • Most travel insurers cover up to $3k or so for a hire car excess. So if you're going overseas, travel insurance is basically a necessity, and making this car excess coverage a bit redundant :)

    Oh, and a quick Google, got me this as the first hit, which says this:

    Peace of mind when you rent a car in Australia

    Rental Excess Cover reduces your excess if you have an accident in a car you hire from a major car rental company in Australia using your ANZ Platinum or ANZ Black card account. Most car rental companies generally charge around $20 to $30 per day for this type of insurance. Without it, your excess for damage to a rental car in the event of an accident could be anywhere between $2,000 to $5,000. This complimentary cover will pay your rental excess over the first $350 up to a maximum of $5,000.

    Not sure how you didn't find that!

  • Cheers. Over the phone Anz said it was only $1250 cover… And I can't find anything in the pds linking directly with the Black.

      The page Spackbace linked clearly states that this is the PDS which is applicable for the black card.

      The PDS also states on page 19:

      Participating card account a valid

      • ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum; or
      • ANZ Rewards Platinum; or
      • ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures; or
      • ANZ Low Rate Platinum; or
      • ANZ Platinum; or
      • ANZ Frequent Flyer Black; or
      • ANZ Rewards Black
