When to Book Flights to Europe over Xmas

Hi Team,

I'm traveling to Europe over xmas, I'm limited to specific dates, departing Brisbane to 10th of Dec and returning the 5th of Jan. I may be able to float a day, possibly 2 either side of those dates but no more… in my searches it seems that this does not affect the price significantly.

At the moment my itinerary sees me flying into Prague and out of Rome.

Preferred airline is a oneworld airline as I'm a gold QFF, and Emirates through Qantas seems the cheapest I've found. I've currently got a hold on some flights for $2650 with flight centre until tomorrow (price match for fares from kayak).

I'm just wondering in when the best time to book would be? I've been monitoring the Qantas website for the past week and for the same itinerary flights have increased $200 in a week (to over $2900), so I'm nervous about putting it off any longer.

Thanks in advance.

    • And 40-50 hrs on the first leg :-(

      • It's only a 10 hour flight and 12 hour flight. Whereas going via the middle east means a 14 hour flight. You arrive in Seoul at 6 pm and leave at midday the next day. Personally I would prefer to break it up and get an airport (or city) hotel, and still save ~$500 in the process.

Also, a Korean Visa is free and Seoul has only a 1 hour time difference to QLD.

Korean air also provide free night stay at hyatt hotel next to incheon airport if your flight is a layover. They don't like to tell you this but if you ask they give. Had free night accommodation with dinner and breakfast included many times when flying to the US and europe.
