Will 12W Apple iPad Charger Charge an iPad Air Faster than Samsung 2.0a Charger?

I bought a used ipad that didn't come with a charger, would apples 12w ipad charger charge faster then my Samsung adaptive fast charger which outputs 2A

my Samsung one is charging it but wondering if apples would be faster/better.

Thanks for any help.

  • No Apple charger, no problem

    • +1

Sorry but im an android user here since galaxy s1 i wont fall for that like some people lolol

  • I believe the iPad charger can output 2.4A for charging, depending on the iPad model it may choose not to draw that much (only 2.1A for example). So yes, it will charge slightly faster than with a 2A charger. I would try out your 2A charger for a while, it's probably fast enough.

    • Thankyou
Ill give it a few days to see.

I found a Belkin 2.4/12w charger on ebay brand new for $33 so might give that a go rather then spend $29 on the wall plug from apple.

would my cable have any effect on it? im using some $1 cables i got from i think shopping express deal

first apple product so don't have many cables for it.

      • The cable shouldn't make a difference, although cheap cables tend to flake out faster.

Not sure why you'd get the $33 belkin? Rated the same as the apple one for $4 more?

        • The belkin comes with a cable which i would think be better then the $1 one i have.

      • Cheap cables can definitely make a difference:
