Buy now with strong AUD or wait for eBay sitewide coupon?

I am in a bit of a pickle. I'm looking to buy a watch from eBay that is priced in USD.
I know that now the AUD is stronger against the USD than it has been in a while at 0.76-0.77, and it is projected to drop to 0.71 during this month and 0.69 around the end of the year.

Should I buy now or roll the dice and wait for an eBay sitewide coupon?

  • what watch? You can probably buy it elsewhere

    • Seiko SARB035. Can't find anywhere cheaper than eBay (~310 USD)

      • Bloody hell thats more expensive than I expected

I know you didn't come on for a discussion about why you're buying that particular watch….but why? You could get something probably bit nicer (or rarer/vintage) if you look around

The Sieko SARB range is very nice and cheap for what you get.

        • @JB1: Not my kind of look I suppose, it is a bit old school.

I found something like an old school Favre Leuba (out of India for e.g) and a hand-picked watch band will give you a kick ass 'designer' piece for only around $150

Or if you're lucky you can find a Maurice Lacroix dress watch for <$400 (usually have to buy from Europe) or even something like a Tissot

    eBay sitewide coupon

These coupons are rarer than MewTwo, I wouldn't count on getting a coupon this year that works site wide. I expect for Xmas they will do 20 percent off on a limited selection of the usual stores.

    • I got mewtwo on Pokémon go…

        pics or never happened.

  • mate just buy it off gumtree.

  • The coupons don't come very often, but people also don't really know how the AUD will go. I had a quick look on Camel Camel Camel and $310 is at the bottom of the cost so far. I'd just go for it.

AUD FOREX projections and predictions are not reliable. It might fall, it might rise - don't let it dictate your purchasing decisions.
