  • $23.59 Shipped @ eBay

Lots of fakes floating around for this camera, I wouldn't buy an ebay one.

    • Great price but says: "Brand: unbranded"!

  • anyone know how this compares to Xiaomi Yi Action Cam?

    • -5

This one got no wifi, 1920x1080@15fps only.

      • +1

This one will do 1080p at 30fps, not sure why you think it's 15fps

      • +2

        15fps

my powerpoint slideshow has more fps

      • First point from the product page;

Real-time displayed on a mobile phone or a panel computer via Wifi Connection

Where are you getting this info from?

      • Sorry was looking at the ebay one's specs.

    • I bought the previous model SJCAM SJ1000. The difference will probably be the quality of the mounts/accessories. Times may have changed but the included mounts from SJCAM used to be pretty cheap. All of the money is put into the camera.

    • Xiaomi will be lots better.

      • Has anybody seen a decent deal for the Xiaomi Yi recently?

  • +1

They produced far too many of these cameras. They're a good basic camera if you can find a genuine one.

  • +1

Hey learner, is it in USD of AUD

    • USD, so ~AU$53.

    • Good spotting :)

  • +2

If this is truly Genuine, very good price. I have one and its decent, easy to use. I since upgraded to sjcam sj5000x and use SJ4000 as a dash cam.
One of the things I found is that sometimes the recording will have a bluish Tint which cant be avoided if you set your settings on auto. Heres a sample of my video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trSHQ_Yx-qg

    • Do you have any underwater footage by any chance? Are the settings on your sample video on auto?

      • +1

I have underwater videos, but there private. Video is fine but obviously the sound isn't that great. Yes video sample is on auto. Sometimes you will see the colours change. The warm color looks good but I really don't like when it changes to a blue tint. Oh by the way, the video same is compress, the raw video looks better

      • +1

I have a sj4000 which I adapted to take filters for underwater. Works ok, but resolution is poor for printing - says 12MP, but is really 3MP.

  • I am interested in Firefly 6s.

  • SJCAM

That's mighty close to the word scam.

  • +2

For a moment I thought you were talking about a Genuine SCAM

  • I have had one for 1 year plus, still going strong. The water proof case started leaking. I say it is better than gpro3. One big problem to me is that it loses date time when I change bettery.

Mine's got a big sjcam logo beneath the lens, the ones on site don't.

Check on YouTube, there are plenty of videos.

  • The genuine ones ive seen show a sjcam underneath lens these dont.TENNEE why arent yours marked sj cam on front

  • So, what's the verdict ?
Is it a genuine SJ4000 or not ?

    • Buy with PayPal, if not genuine then raise a dispute.

    • Mine arrived last week.
It satisfies all the criteria on the net for a genuine SJ4000 and the code on the side of the box was verified on the official SJCAM website.

  • +1

I'd say fake as no SJCAM logo.. pay with PayPal and raise a dispute if u find its not genuine and get it for free! Win win?

    • +1

Actually, SJ4000s without the SJCAM logo are still made by the "SJCAM manufacturer", Shenzhen Hongfeng Century Technology Ltd. Have a look at this video of a visit to the factory (Nov. 2014) - you'll see both branded and unbranded camera face plates. Unfortunately, that doesn't help to establish product authenticity.

    • Mine arrived and has the SJCAM logo. It has also been verified by the official SJCAM website.

      • Thant's good to know, thanks.
Please excuse this rookie question, but how does it convert the currency from US to AU$s?
I was planning to set up a PayPal account with a normal credit card - will there be any extra charges?

        • No extra charges as far as I am aware.
Full disclosure: I too, am a rookie.

        • @AllBase:
          Thanks, appreciate the reply :)

  • +1

My camera arrived today - it has the SJCAM logo on it and the security code on the box checks out, so it's definately genuine! Doesn't have any of the wifi stuff as per their description, but wasn't expecting that anyway.

    • Thanks for the reassuring feedback.

  • Thanks for posting op!

Like f4te - my camera also arrived a couple of weeks ago. The security scratch code was included and checks out too. It says SJCAM on the front of the camera.
