What is the point of linking to some desktop parts suggestions when OP is asking about a specific laptop?

      • Oops sorry I read 3 grand and thought desktop.
        Sorry about that!

On a serious note, all of my experience with laptops has lead me to believe that they cannot deal with the cooling requirements of high performance graphics cards, invariably overheating and failing. Food for thought..

        • i like something which protable and move around with

        • Agreed. Every high end laptop a friend or family member has obtained has been OK for 6 months then riddled with issue's until it inevitably dies.

        • what, "move around" like in pokemon?

  • It's a reasonable price for a laptop with that spec, although IMO it's an insane amount to spend on a laptop. Especially when you can get similar performance from a desktop for around half that price.

    Where are you buying from?

    • Buying it from.dell

      • If you do buy from them, I believe they're currently giving away a free Graphics Amplifier on sales of Alienware laptops. Not that you need it, but it's $200 of value - easy enough to sell.

  • Keep an eye on the outlet you might be able to score an "as new" one for significantly less http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/product…
