Cudo Dashcam Offer - Is It Really 360 Degrees Recording?

Hi Fellow Ozbargainers,

Been looking for a Dashcam for a while and came across this: Cudo current offer

Just wondering if anyone has actually bought one as I can see from some searching they previously sold this same camera here cudo previous offer

Just wanted to get your opinions, I've fired off an email to Cudo to ask but not got a response yet.

  • Is it really 360 degrees recording? Based on the design/form factor i dont see how this is possible.
Or is the 360 degrees just meaning the shock sensor will kick off no matter where you're hit from to lock the recording?
  • Do you think it's the same camera as I've found here on Amazon ?
  • It doesnt seem to come with software for viewing it, as far as i know the distortion on a 360 degree recording would require the correct player so that you could pan and move in whatever direction when viewing it. Also I'm not convinced it would be effective as a dashcam to record the number plate.

For $25 plus delivery, its not a bad price. Still would rather not buy it thinking it's a 360 degree camera if it's not. If it isn't Cudo really should update their listing, surely out of the 1659 people who previously bought it, not one would have questioned this?

Just thought I'd grab your opinions, it might be that I'd just have to look for a deal on a more reputable camera.

Thanks in advance!

360 degree rotating mount I'd assume.
In reality you can only point it in one direction at any single given moment.

Don't waste your money, spend a little bit more and pick up a G1W-C or A118C which have been highly regarded here as bang for buck and decent video quality.

  • Thanks for the tip Unco, checking out the models you suggested right now!

Yeah it definitely can't record in 360 degrees… very misleading title and description by Cudo

Just FYI for anyone interested, reply from Cudo just came in:

    Please see vendor’s response below.

“The 360 degree refers to the rotating stand of the DVR.It is not the level recording degree. The level recording degree is 140 degree. As you can rotate the DVR angle that is why we can call it 360 degree.”

360 degree rotating mount and misleading it is.
