So what does this mean for you? two things actually:

1 the cost of 980's will fall, so will the 1080, 1070 but not so on titan x, as it's still 2800 cores, resulting as a computational beast that supports sli cross fire."given how the 1060 was released" the 1080ti rumoured at 3300 coress %40 increase over the 1080, %10 over titan xxx.

2 Buying a 1080 or 1070 after september will leverage the actual costs most vendors are charging, so its a good news that the titan has been announced.
