Nexus 5X and VR. What Do You Use?

Anyone use VR with their Nexus 5X? What did you use and how did you find the experience?

I'm looking at the following:

  • Haven't tried it with the Nexus 5X. Not sure a good experience can be had with the…
…the small (5.2 in) screen, low resolution (1080p) screen, weak (QSD 808) processor, and light mobile (Android) Apps.

See if you can buy one VR-shell on eBay for cheap (<$5, shipped) and give it a go.
Or even better if you can try a better VR solution at the stores, or from a friend. Just to see if you like VR in the first place.

But if you're serious about VR, you might want to:
    - Buy a Nexus 6P and grab a $30 headset (Total price >$500)
    - Buy a Note 5 and use Samsung VR (a lot more expensive, but people say this is a better experience)
    - Wait for Google Daydream (with a compatible headset, and a compatible phone like ZTE Axon 7)
    - Wait/Buy an "Android VR Headset" (there's VR headsets with built-in screens and processors… possibly better than Daydream experience, who knows)

-Buy a PS VR and get the PS4K/Neo (definitely more power than mobile VR solutions) (Total price >$1,000)

-Buy a Gaming PC (GTX 960 or better) and get the Oculus Rift
-Buy a New Gaming PC (GTX 1080 ?) and get the Valve Steam Vive. (Total price >$2,000)

Let us know what you end up getting, and how it all went : )

  • Best Cardboard headset: Leji VR Mini

Best for movies/virtual screen (because 60 degree FOV): Baofeng Mojing XD

Best VR/360 movie headset (120 degree FOV): BoboVR Z4

These are all fairly cheap but they're "second generation" chines devices where they've fixed a alot of issues. You can find on Amazon or Gearbest/Everbuying/Geekbuying for cheaper.

    • For the Nexus 5X?
