NZ - Auckland Bargains; Anyone Know Good Any Websites?

Hi All,

I'm going to Auckland for a week for work:

a) Does anyone know any good places to visit/things to do?
b) Do you know any good NZ bargain websites? I had a look but most of the one's I saw weren't very good/popular.
c) Any other tips?

I was going to put in the Travel section, but I guess that's for actual cheap flights/accommodation/tours.

    • Haha, I knew there was a NZ equivalent, but forgot the name because I never needed it :)

      Thanks.

Lived in Auckland for 2 years. Depends on where you are but you can head out to piha beach out west.. pretty well known beach and driving around out there is nice for the scenic style. You can go to the sky tower which is in the middle of town.. they have a lot of restaurants up there plus a sky walk but that's quite expensive. Can also 'bungy jump' off there. A lot of nice bars and restaurants around town to visit. The viaduct in town is nice for that also.. there's Kelly tarltons which is an underground Aquariam at mission bay - 5 min from the city..

You can also catch a ferry to waiheke island.

One tree hill is a big park type area. Lots of cows, sheep etc roam free there so you can walk around or drive up to the top and see the whole of Auckland. I used to love sitting up there to chill. It's amazing there if you like the scenic type thing.

Rainbows end is a theme park you can go to.. or snow planet which is about 40 min north where you can basically ski/snowboard inside. If you want the more scenic stuff though you're better off going for a drive down south.

I just moved back 4 weeks ago and I miss it so much! I lived right in the city so if you need any help getting around just ask :)

As for deals, they're quite rare lol. Nz is expensive. In the time I was there I couldn't find any websites to help me out.

Enjoy your time there ! It's a special place. I can't wait to go back!

    • Thanks man, I appreciate the information. I am definitely considering Waiheke and Rangitoto islands, although it is raining for much of my time there.

I will definitely take on your tips, cheers mate.
