Microsoft Excel

Hello OZBargainers,

Is there any site that you know of where I can download Excel for free and preferably with a key?

I had a look online last night and it was so confusing I gave up.

Most of the "free" trails require credit cards details.

Thank you for your help/

Google has a browser based spreadsheet app.

    https://apps.google.com/intx/en_au/products/sheets/

Once upon a time OzBargainers used such a spreadsheet to keep track of Dominos Pizza codes.

Not free, but have you looked into the HUP program? If your workplace is a participant, you can download the Office Suite for something like $15.

    • HUP is old and most work places that had it, won't anymore or for much longer.

Although if your work has Office 365 that allows installs on up to five PCs include home ones, if the workplace allows it.

Try Libre Office. I use Google sheets if online. Both of them are ok for basic use.

If you are at or have graduated from a university they make have Office 365 free for you. I get it for life now.

you can apply for an office 365 developer account here at http://dev.office.com/devprogram and you will get one year free subscription of office 365. But you will need a us IP otherwise only one month free trial.

I used open office for a while, but then upgraded to MSOffice when I could start claiming it on tax. Open Office was OK for me, but my wife isn't that happy about using computers and really didn't need the extra minor headaches from Open Office.

If u study or work for gov.or education sector, some will give office2016 key for free. I got it for $23.

MS Excel online is always free to use in Browser and with apps for devices e.g. ipad/android
    https://office.live.com/start/Excel.aspx#
If isn't as powerful as full Excel install but most of us only use 10% of the full features anyway
Online is more flexible too - e.g. collaboration

    • Thank you so much for this - this may not be the best option for everyone but for me it was. I just needed to collate my expenses for my tax return.

      • you are welcome!

Open any Excel file from Dropbox in your browser and it opens Excel Online.
