Seems China is great for manufacturing lots of stuff but not clothing; I assume Bangladesh or Philippines etc exports more clothing.
As such, is there a website where you can buy cheap clothing? Just like how aliexpress allows you to buy electronics etc? I find aliexpress has minimal clothing and not super cheap.
Uh that's Asia, not just China.
The people there are physically smaller. Nothing horror about that. Just use a conversion.
There is an empire of cheap online clothing stores operating under the same company in China. They're among the top sites ;)
Some people get horrified by the small, but usually most people get horrified by the big.
Just don't expect it to look anything like the pictures.
I had a few good buys from AliExpress. Just check for pictures of customers. Gives you better idea.
I've bought loads of sports leggings from Aliexpress, with another 4 on order at the moment. Tremendously good value at between $6 and $9 delivered, delivery taking around 3 weeks.
A lot of different styles from what you can buy in Australian shops, and they've attracted a lot of admiring comments from people down the gym.
Some of the items have been a bit small, but the material is stretchy enough for them to fit. And if it's something I really like that's a bit tight, I buy a larger size.
At that price, you can afford to take a gamble on whether they fit or not, but they usually give good sizing guidelines for waist, hips, leg length.
Stitching is not up to the same standard as my $50 or $90 leggings, but perfectly adequate. With one pair that I particularly liked, I had to run a sewing machine over the seam to reinforce it.
A lot of the Aliexpress pages show front/back/side views and sometimes show the stitching details or waistbands too, and I've always found these an accurate rendition of what the finished garment looks like.
Clothing online from China is a real horror story. You'll want something XXXL if you're L ;)
