From Andrew, the CashRewards rep:

Hi everyone. Andrew from Cashrewards here.

In relation to this offer, I would like to say that you can only have one membership per individual, as per our terms and conditions. We have many ways of monitoring this.

The aim of this campaign is to increase members to Cashrewards so we can offer our community better cashback long into the future, just like we have with Dan Murphy's 12% and Woolworths WISH cards at 5.25%.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Apologies for putting this comment right up the top and in bold, but I feel it's very important to get the message across.

If you could re monitor all my untracked transactions first then I have a very good reason to believe you.

        • +6

Yeah, my $5 purchases from AliExpress got tracked, but my $150 one didn't :'(

So a $5 sign up bonus would partially compensate me for that…

        • +7

Yeah please address current customer base first otherwise we advise merchants not to bother with cashrewards

        • -7

          lol

        • Hear hear!

        • +3

@abb: Yeah, my $220 purchase from AliExpress didn't get tracked either. Now we know where it's going….time to sign the wife up.

        • +1

unlimited emails = unlimited cash! BOOM!

    • +7

Only max $25,000. So not unlimited cash BOOM!

      • Wow,you got cash rewards maxed out?$25,000 is the ceiling?I think I would never get close to that.

  • +30

So this is where all my missing transaction $$$'s have gone…

    • -3

I've never had a transaction gone missing… I have received $100's back so far.

      • +13

That sounds like cashrewards employee talk to me!

Your just lucky this isnt the 1800's otherwise you would be burnt at the stake!

        • Nope, just being honest here. I have had some rejected by merchants, and some have taken a few days to show up. Most of my purchases have been through eBay, but have had Geekbuying, Aliexpress, Zizo, etc.
Maybe I have been lucky… or others have been unlucky.

        • Hilarious how you can get neg'ed to oblivion on Ozbargain for reporting true facts.
I have received cashback for 132 transactions since June 2014. Some for major purchases for work. Not once have I had to chase one up, except when a merchant had a technical issue, in which case it was actually Cashrewards chasing me up, to alert me that tracking was broken for that site, and to ask me to provide evidence if I made a purchase. I did so, and got paid out.

I suspect many people do not use cashrewards correctly. I copy the exact title of the item I plan to buy, close the merchant's site, reopen it through cashrewards, and search for my item. For any non-eBay sites, I delete Merchant cookies to be sure (no need for eBay). For eBay, I add an item to my watch list before reopening eBay through cashrewards (although it also seems to work if the item is already in my cart).

@Make it so: I agree,no need to neg.

Super easy to register. Email was sent straight away to confirm my address. No issues with the process and I must say it was one of the smoothest registration processes I have ever experienced.

    • +3

That's the easy part. The hard part is getting your purchases tracked.

  • One issue may be cashing out using the same bank account?

  • I wonder if it is limited to the first 5000 to sign up or the first 5000 to sign up and confirm. I'm at work and webmail is blocked, gotta find a wifi hotspot

    • Just confirm it from your phone

      • -6

I don't pay for mobile data, I think its a rort and I get by most of the time without missing it

        • +6

          LOL. What a tight arse.

        • +3

          @jelko:

you know what site you're on right? why would I spend money for something I don't use?

        • +3

No bloody idea why your getting negged.

        • -2

Look into Kogan mobile prepaid. It's only $17/month for unlimited calls & text with 1GB data included.

          https://www.koganmobile.com.au/plans/mobile/

I'm with vaya on a grandfathered plan and pay $19/month for unlimited text, lots of calls and 1.5gb data.

        • @hetzjagd: there is an opportunity cost in that, so you might win some and lose some.

        • +1

@Agret: Best plan is Telstra $40 Freedom Plus then make your own app and use the $40 recharge credit on it. After Google gets is 30% cut you get $28 cashback, making the plan $12 per month for unlimited calls, texts and 3GB of data (+ 3GB Night Data). You can set it up on a subscription so once it's setup you can forget and the money just comes through in your bank account.

    • Im on a wifi hot spot now and can advise you get an email confirming if you are credited the $5 even if you havent activated yet. So no need to rush to activate

  • wish they didn't take so long to confirm the payments. 90 days is bad enough but I have a Co-Op payment waiting for more than 90 days still.

They seemed to miss my purchase from newegg and eBay. I never followed it up. But sometimes they can miss some purchases.

    • One of my ebay purchases didn't go through. Yet no problem in the past (with ebay purchases).

      • Wierdly enough, purchases made with vouchers all went through. Local australian sellers also seemed to play well with Cashrewards. However, it was international purchases that seemed to get lost.

Whilst it would be nice if they could look into this, i do not bank that i definitely will be getting cashback, but rather see it as a bonus.

        • I used to ask when purchases didn't go through but found it a waste of time. Reply was always something like "too bad, so sad".

I did have one last year where I used a voucher code for a hotel. That didn't go through but they do disclaim for things like that.

        • @whodidthat: there is always an "excuse". non trackable or something. as long as no one relies on it and calculates into their savings, i think its not bad. as they can be somewhat unreliable.

        • @t25: Yup

  • Ha ha ha ha

  • What's the best way to get a quick cashback over the $5.01 threshold? Do any gift cards give instant cashbacks?

    • Buy something cheap from Ali Express. I heard Fart Bombs are all the rage.

      • Is the shipping really free? It says there may be other fees charged by the supplier? Anyone shopped at Ali Express before?

        • +1

If an item says shipping is free, then it is.

I've bought many things from AliExpress. It's basically like ebay - it's not one store, but rather a marketplace of many vendors.

You'll see the total price before you pay, although most likely in USD, so use a card with a good conversion rate & low fee.

We have many ways of monitoring this.

Challenge accepted.! Kidding I'm too lazy but someone in Russia might interested.

  • I guess there is no point in posting this deal here as all the Ozbargainers have Cash Rewards account. If not they are not true OzBs.

    • +1

There's also Pricepal - just sayin

  • I signed up and can't see the $5 bonus. When will it appear?

  • This is targeted at ClickFrenzy's user database, and is not applicable to Cashrewards' existing customers (as each individual is not allow to have multiple accounts). This post has moved to forums after discussions with Cashrewards rep.

    • +3

We don't put all those $10 for new customers on deliveryhero/menulog etc in forums because it's targeted to new users, and the $50 off vistaprint wasn't put in forums even though it was targeted towards new users…

      • See this comment. Basically there's a take down request from Cashrewards, and we ended up agreeing on moving it to the forums. If Menulog & Delivery Hero have problems with us posting their new-user targeted campaigns they should email us or raise a TWAM.
