How much did you fork out for a Surge Protector?

Hi all,

I went by Bunnings today to check out surge protectors I could use for my PC and I found the prices were all over the place, not sure what to go for.

I'm wondering if anyone here has a protector board or device and how much you spent on it?

      Hey hey, I've done a quick search online and am seeing $200 as a minimum for a decent UPS, are these something you have seen cheaper?

    Buy a quality powerboard. I personally use Belkin. Costs me about $60

      Agreed. I also use Belkin and the dual 2.4A USB ports on it are very useful.

      Try Futu Online and wait for the next 20% eBay discount, they have both UPS and surge protectors.

    I have one from cotd 7 years ago, still going strong.

    One from aldi, 5 years no issues. If its a pc spend the cash on a ups, if your protecting old consols on a old TV boards are fine imo.

    Years ago I bought a small, single outlet cube Belkin for around $20. It came with connected equipment replacement warranty. I thought: oh yes, the warranty is probably not worth much.

    A few years later power surge (lightning strike meters from my house) blew up the Belkin surge protector and $200 Internet modem/router connected to it. Took some time, but Belkin replaced the protector and refunded $200 for the router.

    What I use now? I bough a dozen of Belkin single outlet protectors and I got them everywhere, including my phone line, TV, PVR, laptop, modem. Best investment ever, Gov.

      How hard was it to go through warranty from them? did you have your receipts to prove youd bought the surge protector as well?

    $15 for 4 outlet HPM surge protector board from Officeworks.
    Most surge protectors are rip off scams using flashy words to hide the fact they are useless and overpriced.

    edit: bought my last one about 3 years ago.

    Most of the Belkin ones come with $250K attached equipment I think. There are some boards with higher
    My old one had 750K, and this new Wireless one has $250k
