Any idea how much an 18yo Apple Store employee gets paid?

I'm tossing up job options at the moment, and am wondering how much an 18 yo "Specialist - Retail Customer Service Representative - Part Time" would be getting payed per hour.

Cheers my eneloop dudes.

I suppose not all remuneration is monetary :)

      • Until she finds out you work for apple and she's a droid.

  • apple(y) anyway.

  • Interested to know. Come on I don't believe none apple staff in this forum. Please share. Range of $ also fine.

They are all too ashamed I bet.

Must be hard being labelled a "genius" and being paid peanuts.

      • Blame the corporation. And the ceo. No point of becoming evolutionary person if you pay your staffs that low with those trillions profit. Disgusting job.
        No punt intended.

    *paid

If you're applying for a job, please check your spelling on anything you send to your prospective employer.

I wouldn't expect a cent more than whatever minimum is defined in the award though.

    they pay Minimum wage.
around $32K a year (full time)

    no Commission structure.
    No discounts
one Apple item per year at 50% off (not including iPhone)

    • That 32k includes super or 32k plus super?
The apple 50% discount per year conditions is so stingy. I'm not really fans of Tim cook and the previous you know who to be honest. Seems he is not really care about employees but just shareholders.

      • Plus super
Yeah apple pays pittance, they bank on the brand.

Depends on how much you steal

is beard wax and moustache oil and hair bun ties a tax deduction for male apple store employees? it seems to be the uniform.

My mate works as an engineer for Apple Australia. The pay is around $150,000.

They seem to pay their retail workers really badly.

"Specialist - Retail Customer Service Representative - Part Time"

i say go for it. don't worry about how much apple pays you as long as it's within your award. your next it employer will see apple instead of mcd or woolies.

Agree. Build your cv with reputable employers and you will have better future.

don't get me wrong. i've got nothing against mcd or woolies. it's just that they're not in the same industry as apple. they could be good for op if op were aiming for the food, retail, hospitality, distribution industry, but my pick would be apple for it related industries.

Telstra/Virgin/Optus etc could be a good one as well as these require actual sales skills, hitting targets etc.
At apple you're not paid extra on sales, whereas at the telcos you are. May as well get paid the bonuses and get some sales skills under your belt - shows you have good people skills too

Minimum wage. Family Room Specialist gets paid better and had more progression options. Despite the pay you will enjoy working there and make some great friends. It's also a great thing to have on your resume.

    • Why?
Oh i can hire this person.. they worked at apple so i can pay them crap?
I disagree with the "enjoy working" part.. being paid nothing to deal with high numbers of customers while apple pockets billions in profits… i think not!

It's something that stands out on a resume. Since having it on there I get more call backs when applying for new jobs. A Genius at Apple gets paid $55-60k which is pretty good for retail.
I worked with Apple for 18 months and it's one of the best jobs I have had in terms of job satisfaction. High numbers of people make the day go fast and the interactions are mostly enjoyable.
Perhaps don't judge someone's profession until you have tried it yourself.

        • Genius gets paid $55-$60k
          NO THEY DO NOT!

        • And before you say it..

@jimbobaus: Worked at Chadstone for 2 years and my leaving salary as a Genius was above $55k. The starting salary for a Genius is $52k.

        • @boggie:

probably an annualized salary that depends on how many hours you work/get? or is it 9-5?

        • @boggie:What was your job title? There's no way a Specialist - Retail Customer Service Representative would be getting that much.

        • @gringo: Full time hours. Not salaried but hourly rate was based on that figure.

@Jar Jar Binks: As I said. I was a Genius. Those are the guys that service the Macs and do repairs.

        • @boggie:

So casual then - casual generally includes a big % loading for sacrifice of holiday pay/benefits.

        • @gringo: Not casual. I was full time permanent. It's just how the pay was handled.

it sounds like boggie was better at negotiating a contract and had more work experience.

having a positive attitude and liking one's job may have been a contributing factor to a slightly higher salary/wage.
