Looking for a Laptop for Uni That Is in Stock at JB Hi-Fi, Good Guys or Harvey Norman

Hello, I'm in the market for a laptop or notebook, looking to buy either today or tomorrow so having it stocked at JB, the Good Guys or Harvey Norman would be a plus.

My priorities are excellent battery life and a 13 inch (or greater) screen. I don't mind buying an after market battery if it means I can get above 10 hours of life. My current laptop dies after 1 hour of use and just isn't suitable to take around because of how unreliable it is.

I'm looking to spend $700 or less, I know this is difficult. Something fast would certainly be ideal, but I can always buy more ram or an SSD when I get the mulah and install it myself.

What would you fellow Ozbargainers suggest?

  Just buy a Dell Latitude.

  There's a $799 Dell Latitude on the dell outlet with an SSD, long battery life, 14" form factor. You have to wait until Monday, though.

  You are asking for too much for $700.

    Thanks I checked it out and there's definitely some great options on the Dell outlet. Do I look for laptops with 9 cell batteries?

      No. Get the Dell Latitude 14 7000 with a 4-cell 55 Wh battery and a 1366x768 screen for more battery life or a FHD screen if you want more room on your desktop and sharper images. That laptops runs for over 8 hours.

      If you want more battery life, buy a Dell Power Companion (there are two sizes)

  This is OzBargain.

  The best deals you're going to find are going to be from online sellers, and not from a retail/brick and mortars.

  If you are a student dell offers discounts, which can work out cheaper than dell outlet.
  OR
  MSY is cheaper than JB Hi-Fi, Good Guys, Harvey Norman and has physical store locations.

  MSY was infamous in the past for their support. However, they have changed and are no worse than Harvey Norman.
