Cheapest and Best Cinemas in Adelaide

hello there fellow Ozbargainer's :). going to the movies for the first time (Jason Bourne). I'm new to Adelaide, and looking for the best price, and or the best experience.

I'm looking for suggestions, and a list of the cheapest and the best cinemas in Adelaide.

how's Event Cinemas? I can get tickets for $15 each from survey credit, or should I use the credit for gift cards.
how's Hoyts, Imax? friend says it's the best.

all comments appreciated :)

Ps are there cinemas that show previous movies, like The Revenant, or older movies.

thanks all :)

    $10 tickets at Reading cinemas.

    • Thanks. how is Reading Cinemas, the screen and everything? also forgot to mention do different cinemas have different size screens?

I've got no problems with Reading cinemas, chairs are same as others too. I think some cinemas have different screen size, apart from the advertised big screen ones (eg. xtremescreen or whatever it's called) smaller cinema rooms have a smaller screen. Those are usually for less popular films or older films that don't have as many viewers.

Palace Nova off Rundle St is great. $8 on Mondays and their "Eximax" screen is a former iMax screen.

    • Thanks schitz deals. palace nova is looking good :)

One Cinema that may not be on your radar is:
    http://mercurycinema.org.au/ (Morphett St)
(generally only exhibit new releases from film festivals and obscure movies that others don’t have access to).

For older movies you could try: http://www.capri.org.au/ (Goodwood)
or The Trak: http://www.theregaltheatre.com.au/session-times/trak-cinema/ (Toorak Gardens)

I used Ticket Bounty for the first time last week.
Managed to get a couple of tickets at Wallis Cinemas to see Hunt for the Wilderpeople for $17.90 total.

I also recommend the Capri (I usually by a book of 10 tix) and the Mercury (often offbeat movies).

The odeon at semaphore have tickets for 8 or 9 bucks if you want to see a current movie on chairs from 50 years ago
