I wish I could sue the pants of our obtuse incompetent bureaucracy which is letting billions of dollars of tax payer money down the drain. It is utterly appalling that even in face of damming evidence our courts and judiciary is useless, i.e. useless at doing anything. If I had my way I would bring capital punishment again and hang these greedy pigs.
Hear me out. There will always be rorts of all kinds scamming a scheme, but the genius of the VET FEE help scheme and what gets my goat is how easy it is to scam the government of million of dollars of tax payers money. Just open any bloody college, distribute a $600 laptop for every $18000 you get from the government and voila! In a few months time, you will be a multi millionaire!
I have been following one particular case for the past few months and you will be appalled at how brazen this rort is. Step by step
- Open a new college (one room, at the top of a $2 shop basically anything would do)
- Sign up your wife as a teacher in the same college. At the same time also enroll her in dozens of paid courses and use that content as yours! Afterall if you are not an education provider how else do you design a course?
- From the money received, open other secondary business's and pay those secondary business's obscene money using the money earned to save on taxes.
- Employ all your other family members as employees and pay them comically high amounts for being a 'teacher'
- If you are under investigation, hire the best suits with silk ties aka lawyers to argue your case.
Net result, you are a multi millionaire, the law firm is a multi millionaire, the student is under commonwealth debt which is never going to be paid and is left with an ageing laptop/iPad, your taxes have been pocketed by a greedy pig who has no morals or ethics and is probably going to use that money in the elections in his third world country to earn even more money as a corrupt politician (Can you sleep knowing how yours and mine taxes are going to be used?)

So my question to my fellow ozbargainer who are also lawyers - are we just going to be sitting ducks to all this or can I sue the federal government for brazen misuse of my tax dollars and demand for a full fuckin refund! Seriously can I do that as a citizen? We are a beautiful country governed by idiots with their head burried in sand, intent at turning this country into a third world shit. The shit that I escaped only to find more of it here!
