Another restaurant jumping on the pokemon bandwagon (no complaints from me…)
http://www.bilbys.com.au/

As the sign in store says:
Pokemon Go Trainers
Show us your profile and get 10% off your purchase.
Activate lure at park to get a free reg chips

I haven't marked as a freebie as I don't know if you can get the free chips without purchasing a burger (although the sign doesn't say you have to). I will update to freebie if anyone can confirm they got the chips with no purchase.

I also don't know when it will expire as written on a chalk board

I will not go there anymore just because of that

  • I feel as though purchasing the lures themselves would probably be more financially viable than handing out free chips and missing that revenue. Given that 90% of the pokemon go players seem to be young males on their own or with another male friend (not exactly the type to stop for a quick brunch date) offering exclusive discounts to pokemon go players really just ostracises other potential customers. Renero's comment above being a good example of the ramifications of such offers - he's not the only crank that will take that stance.

I mean there are other ways to appeal to pokemon go players more passively like decorations, themed menus, acoustic renditions of the red/blue/yellow score. Maybe even a "lure raffle" of some sort where you activate a lure with a meal purchase and can enter to win a power bank or something. At least none of those force regular customers to pay more simply because they don't play pokemon.

Each to their own I guess though…
