They have bumped their pricing north. Some of the Australian Open t shirts use to be $2.

LOL after there last deal i will NEVER use them again, still waiting for my refunds

    • same - in my last order I noticed my package was missing a few items which they didn't even tell me about. Only once I started chasing up the missing items a month or 2 later, they said they were out of stock so will organise a refund so check your orders!

  • +3

If you want to wait 4 weeks for a refund and have to initiate a paypal claim yourself after you buy your stuff, then go for it!

    • +2

Same thing happened with a friend of mine!

Member since 31 minutes ago explains everything lol!

  • Just observation as a new customer - never seen the site before… i feel the prices are a bit steep…still. Maybe it's reflective of the comments made above. I usually buy direct from nba.com etc and this isn't much cheaper not to mention smaller selection.

  • Not these guys again

  • +2

Just letting people know that the basketball apparel is fake, I bought from them which was a good price and there are already fading and stitching is coming out.

  • Ordered a few times (AFL gear), experience was fine for me if a bit slow.

  • +5

the sheer incompetence displayed by these guys from the last deal is flabbergasting.

also, bumping up your price and calling it a sale is an automatic neg from me.

  • a Colleague and myself ordered some football Jersey from them and waited for 1-2 weeks and no shipping notice, then we chased up with countless emails only to receive a reply that they are out of stock, then waited a week for refund of items. never ordering again.

How they are still in business is amazing

  • All sale items have been removed.

  • Yup — They are back to Normal Price. Coupon code doesn't work either. Bad repute - fangear.com

Hi guys, a few things to note here.

Firstly, in regards to this post, Fangear has just started operating on a brand new and totally bespoke system under new management (literally launched yesterday, Aug 02) and in the post-launch testing a temporary bug was found which reduced certain product more drastically than intended. It should be a quick fix and was being worked on in the 'live' environment to allow people to continue purchasing, as all mainstream/digital advertising had been turned off for the store and the resulting lower traffic was deemed manageable. However, with THIS POST popping up (not endorsed by Fangear) there was a sudden surge in traffic and purchase activity which prompted ALL PROMOTIONAL PRICING TO BE TEMPORARILY TURNED OFF while the bug is being fixed. To repeat, this post was NOT endorsed by Fangear.

Secondly, the previous deal was prompted by Fangear being bought out by a new parent company. A new HQ, new warehouse, new online system - new everything - meant there was a tonne of stock that needed to go. Over 20,000 units were shipped out in two weeks however some users - including a couple mentioned above - faced unfulfilled orders to due the older system (and smaller customer service team) not being able to keep up. There were also issues with getting back to customers in a timely manner due to the unexpected nature of the event, and the under-resourcing of previous management. This was obviously not ideal and not good enough, however was a largely unavoidable legacy of previous management. With the new parent company, this has now been resolved. It's now being operated by Super Retail Group, who run Rebel Sport, Amart, BCF, Ray's Outdoors, Supercheap Auto etcetera.

Finally - and perhaps most importantly - the gear is most definitely NOT fake. It's all authentic and officially licensed gear. It's the same product as displayed on Rebel and Amart (literally, it's the same product feed, hence the merger) and the same product feed as NRLshop, shop.AFL, NBAstore, wallabyshop, allblackshop… the company runs all major licensed retail in Australia, on behalf of the sporting associations. It's all the same warehouse and it's all authentic gear. Fangear is simply the 'master store' which holds the majority of all official licensed team apparel in Australia. Any issues seen in products (rare) are a fault of the supplier/manufacturer and there is a full returns policy available on the site if this is the case. The new customer service team is dedicated to solving any and all issues faced by customers.

Ultimately, the company was facing some big changes and is still growing, and as a result some customers have had poor experiences; however any previous poor experiences should not dictate future purchasing decisions, as the team is working extremely hard to perfect the systems and processes.

First, u dont even put your name. Second, are u the new CEO? Finally, bad experience is bad experience. Ultimately, people dont trust u.

My name is Ace and while I'm not the new CEO, I have worked with the senior management team (past and present) for the last 2.5 years developing a better system for the company, which finally launched yesterday.

I completely understand a bad experience is a bad experience. My company understands that. We've all had them online and we appreciate that the last sale was not managed as well as it should have been, due to a relative lack of resources, a short timeframe and an outdated stock management system. I'm simply trying to explain what went wrong the last time, under previous management, and what we're trying to do to fix it moving forward. We've added all new functionality, new member benefits and an improved user experience across the whole site. We're finalising testing as we speak - hence the glitch which was exposed tonight - but we're confident it will be better than ever once those loose ends are tied up.

We didn't push or endorse this post. We are not currently advertising anywhere until live testing has finished and we certainly weren't trying to spruik a bargain. Once I saw this post, however, I just wanted to provide some clarification (especially in regards to the claim our product is not authentic when that's what our entire business is focused on: officially licensed team apparel).

Ultimately, we want to provide the best possible experience for online shoppers and sports fans within Australia and while we completely appreciate that this has not always been the case, it's what we're working towards.

Really sorry if you've had a poor experience with Fangear and if it's put you off purchasing through us again then obviously that is completely your choice. Just know we've acknowledged the problems that have occurred in the past and, under new management and with a new system, the service will soon be better than ever.

        Ace C.

When is the code going back up?

Also it is quite clear if a post is endorsed by the company or not, because the poster has to click a box saying if they are associated, etc. The vast majority of OzBargain deals are from members of the community because we like sharing good finds with others

        • heads up ace still waiting on some deals

  • +1

I always enjoy reading first timers (mainly bad ones) getting destroyed by the ozb community.

  • Fangear has been good to me 3/4 times, with a refund taking over 3 weeks…

most items take between a week and a month to arrive…

that being said, im happy to order again.

  • Clicked the links posted, prices were right as OP stated. Copy/paste to some mates and they said it was full price - refreshed the pages and yep, it was.
    No bargains.

    • I got in quick yesterday and orders where shipped today, so at least they honored the orders placed.

I also ordered in the last deal back in May and thought everything I received was excellent and at really good prices. I noticed some things I had bought last time were more expensive now, eg. I bought this for my wife for $12.09 in May and now $60! http://www.fangear.com/australian-open-2016-ladies-puffer-ve…

  • I've ordered a few times and had an excellent experience. Orders fulfilled within a week and confirmation emails received when orders have been dispatched and delivered. I must have got lucky and scored some good gear at 85% off. Order was honoured without a problem.
