I love Whittaker's Peanut Butter Chocolate. I used to be able to get it at Woolies Ashfield & Marrickville but they haven't had it for months. I think it was $4.50.
The tobacconist in Marrickville Metro has it for $5.50. So at about a block a week I'll be down $50 a year. That wouldn't be very OZB of me, now would it.

I would have thought the Peanut Butter flavour would be safe because I've never seen it in another brand. But you've got me thinking.
There was a comment on the Whittakers facebook page recently saying it's still available at Big W. I haven't checked this out but it's certainly no longer at any of the Woolies I used to get it at.
I seem to find a lot of the food I really like gets discontinued :(

Hold on at $5.50 a block at a block a week, wouldn't that be $5.50 x 52 = $286 a year?

Honestly, I believe a conspiracy is afoot.
It's a very popular line for Whittaker's, and given all the metrics available to the Big Two, they'd view it as a threat to their "preferred" or own-brands.
After all, we're Australians! We get the arse-end of everything and pay top dollar for the privilege.
Sorry I don't have an alternate supplier for you. I just accepted it as another example of interference in a so-called "free market".
