Soundbars - Recommendations?

I'm looking at a soundbar for my tv as I'm fed up with all the wires with my surround system with kids.

I was looking at purchasing the Bose Solo but noticed the reviews weren't great, so thought I'd take a look at the Cinemate 15. The sound was much better but I noticed that it doesn't have bluetooth capability or wi-fi. Whilst this isn't exactly necessary, I thought it would be nice to have. I also have a panasonic tv and was wondering whether I should keep it consistent.

What are your thoughts? Is Bose the best option or do you have some better recommendations for me? Pricewise, I obviously don't want to get the best price but don't want to compromise on sound quality. So below $900 is ideal.

Anyone able to help with advice at all?

  • we have a Sony soundplate 2.1ch 170W HTXT1 sound 'plate'. very happy with it. was only $25ish at half price damaged box sale as found on here

  • Defo worth listening before buying. I found the sonos performed very well and has a good app with sonos providing regular updates. Denos also sounded good but app may not be at the same level.

  • Paid $600 for this at JB Hifi in April.

Absolutely impressed by it and really surprised at how good it was. I'm no audiophile, but it has improved my TV, movie and gaming experience tenfold. It sits in a 4.5m x 4m room/mancave/theatre and really fills the room out and I'm very content.

Choice magazine just reviewed soundbars a week ago only 4 were recommended. The two that are in your price range are LG music flow HS8 (rrp 999 )slightly higher than your budget & Cambridge audioTV5 $649 the last one had a good review by a choice member but advised buying the best cable audio such as toslink or 3.5 jack either around $65.

I've got a cinemate 15. I love it. Sound Quality is amazing out of it. They often pop up for $700 from the $830 RRP.

Bluetooth - not required for me. I have an apple TV, which I 'airplay' from my phone through the TV (which plays through the speakers). Works perfectly. You can save a bit of money and buy a chrome cast to do the same thing.

If bluetooth is critical : http://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/bose--174%3B-bose--174%3… or https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/accessories/logi…

    Good luck :)
