turntable ( record player ) with usb etc

Hi i'm looking 2 buy my mum a record player that she can plug into the computer and burn the records to cd and mp3. There seems 2 be a huge difference in price between shops and brands! Anyone no a good place or anything about them?

Ah, Aldi had some for sale a couple of times in the past year. Maybe some of the nice people on this forum will tell you if they have seen a remainder unit in their area. I think it was $69.

  • all depends if mum is an audiophile. online bargain sites such as crazysales and dealsdirect have em for about $70 +p&h, but quality is unknown. ebay has some Sony ones at $100 but reviews are so-so on them.

  • try jaycar mate

    • is it just me or does it seem dodgy that you can't close the lid with a record in it.

      • I suspect you can, (cut-out sections in the lid), but the record will 'hang over' the sides.

      • Or trim the record down with a pair of kitchen scissors. lol!

Fortunately I digitised all my records a while back and have no more vinyl around the place. :)

  • There's an AKAI one today in the City Software clearance, $88
