Cheese Wheel Pasta - Anyone tried?

I've been seeing these videos on facebook about restaurants that serve pasta at the table out of giant cheese wheels. I think some of them light the cheese on fire first (flambe) to melt the cheese, then the pasta gets coated in gooey cheese. Looks amazing… wonder if it tastes as good as it looks, or whether it's just the same as adding cheese to your pasta?

If anyone knows any places in Melbourne as well - would love to try this first hand.

  • There's a stall selling it at the Queen Victoria Night Markets.
I tried it the 4 cheese pasta. Generous serving size for $12.
It's literally coated in cheese. Was ok. A bit bland for my taste.

  • Tried it at Buffalo dining club in Sydney.

Looks theatrical, but nothing special in taste.

  • Tried in Canberra, just tasted like cheesy spaghetti lol but still nice
