Has anyone here ordered from 'LG Spares' before?

Hi all,

I ordered 2 replacement Nexus 5 batteries back in June from LG Spares ( http://www.spareslg.com/gb/ ) and I still haven't received them. I've been going back and forth with their "customer service" department for a while now. I've been given an invalid tracking number, told it was sent out on 24/6, then they asked me for additional money to pay for shipping two weeks AFTER it was supposedly shipped, even though I had paid a shipping charge at the time I ordered the batteries. I ended up paying it (reluctantly) despite not getting an explanation for this. It's a long story. In a nutshell, I'm not getting anywhere with these people.

Just wondering if anyone here has ever ordered any spare mobile batteries from them, and if so, did you have any difficulties and how long did it take to receive your order?

Thanks :)

    Pissing money into the wind.

Hope you paid via paypal or some other for of payment method that allows for chargr backs.

    • Yep, I paid with Paypal. I'm giving it until the end of the week and then I'll be filing a claim with them.

In the past I've searched online and read posts on a few diferent forums (Reddit, XDA, Whirlpool, etc) where people claim that LG Spares is one of the only (if not THE only) places online that sells genuine (ie. non-counterfeit) LG N5 batteries, and I've never come across anyone saying anything negative about them and their service. Because of this, I've been (naively) giving them the benefit of the doubt all this time. I was just curious if any Ozbargainers had any experiences ordering from them.

      • Did they refer to that exact specific domain www.spareslg.com?

The parts and repair industry is awash with companies pretending to be something they are not. Even just in Australia try looking up HP in the whitepages and you will find hundreds of them, "HEWLETT PACKARD PRINTER REPAIR HOTLINE" etc.

        • Yes, that's the specific domain that various posts have linked to. I know what you mean regarding HP. We had an old Officejet a while back that I was trying to fix myself. I did a search online and was surprised at how many people were trying to pass themselves off as being directly affiliated with them.

I've sent LG Spares one last loooong message with a summary of my issues with them. If I don't get a satisfactory response within the next two days I'll be taking it up with Paypal. I suppose this is what I get for being a tightarse and not just giving in to temptation by upgrading my (and my wife's) phones :P

  • Did you get any resolution with this? I'm looking for ways to do the same thing. Seems crazy to need to discard a perfectly good phone for the sake of replacing a battery.
