Are The Apple Earpods on Groupon Genuine?

I'd be very surprised if Groupon knowingly sold fake stuff. They have large online presence in Oz and selling fake stuff would not be in their interest. I have bought items from them in the past and had no problems.

I think they might be an older model/design - look at this in the description:

Remote and mic are supported by all models of iPod, iPhone, and iPad (not all models support volume up/down functions)

Which could be interpreted as "won't work with iphone 6/6+ and later models".
