I just bought a house and was looking to demolish it in 6 months time and build a new house. I know that Metricon, Porter Davis are established builders but they are a bit out of my budget. If you know anyone who is a fairly good builder, has a good portfolio and not that expensive please let me know, any help will be greatly appreciated.
You should tell everyone about him so we all can avoid him/them.
I will once this nightmare is over. I still need him to finish the house!

I doubt he could start a new house now, pretty sure he has a court case or two on him right now, we suspect that's why we have not seen him for a month…
I could only give some hints for now.
He is of SEA background,lives in Caroline Spring.
Also I would advice against anyone who considers to go private with building their dream home. I looked up possible legal action I could take against this guy only to find out that there is no law against private builders in Victoria (not at the moment, though they have called for a re-form in the board back in Feb). Stick with volume builders! Honestly wish I had stayed with Porter Davis.

Another one to avoid is Zuccala Homes, based on an ozbargainers experience a year ago.

Property that I'll be looking to build is located in Glen Waverley
We are building with a company called SJD in the Sth East subs of Melb. Building an all inclusive "turn key" package and all has been perfect so far. No delays, no unexpected surprises. Communication excellent, quality seems fine. We have another inspection next week but I'm not expecting any problems. I'd recommend them highly.
Mimosa homes were pretty good when we built our home with them 3 years ago.

Please PM me so I could tell you to avoid my builder. Private builder that is full of shits. All my walls are slanted, nothing is going right, project is 2 months late and have not see him for a month.
