        • Bugger that, I'd be one of those monkeys that live in the hot springs. There is something to be said about a Tassie winter though, when else can a man dress up in his finest puffer jacket and scarf.

  • Fiji?? Just did a quick look up and Jetstar have return flights for 2 people in January for $1500. Could be nice :)

EDIT: Just read other ppls comments about Fiji having their wet season in January, so probably not an ideal time to go = sux :(

  • I've heard Whitsunday Island has beautiful beaches (really clean and white sand), it would be a nice remote place for a honeymoon.

  • Id say Bali, stay around nusa dua ( laguna hotel / conrad / mulia ) choose the lagoon pool room and u have easy access to the private pool. The price around 200-300 bucks a night.

    Driver with car ( avanza / xenia ) 50 bucks for 10 hours ( petrol included )

Dont stay in the same hotel all the time.

Then move from nusa dua to Ayana / Rimba Hotel area. Watch sunset at the rock bar…

Mannnn i can takk about it for hours, make up ur mind and u may PM me if u need more info. Im from Bali by the way :D

  • If you're thinking of tropical beaches in January specifically then you would probably prefer considerably north of the equator. January is in fact Bali's wettest month and not only that, you still pay high season prices in early January for the privilege.

Like others have said, you could go anywhere for $7000 if you skimp on flight costs and avoid honeymooner traps.

  • I dont know how about Cancun on the Caribbean, looks pretty nice https://www.expedia.com.au/packagesearch?langid=3081&subm=1&…

    • I've never been to Mexico, is it considered safe? Can we use Phuket as a comparison point?

  • +1

An ozbargainer could stretch$7000 to 10 months in Europe.
