Just bought an item on eBay, paid postage, all good, got an email today from the post office saying that parcel has amount payable on collection.(item from Australia)
Any ideas? I don't want to go an pay anything for something I already paid for.Contact them but not sure if they will tell me the charges…
Contacted the seller too… if all fails, should I not collect and open a case on eBay?

It could be an innocent mistake by the seller, or at the originating post office. Just go and see how much they are trying to charge extra and decide what to do then.
Isn't the standard thing in disputes is having to return the item to the Seller.
What happens if you underpay the postage as well.
ill go tomorrow and check it with the post… seller contacted me saying was a prepaid bag…so…im lost eheheh
In this case may be seller try to put 1Kg stuff into a 500g bag (prepaid and it fit) and send it to you. 9/10 he can get away with it as AP dont check, but this time it get caught.
Just pay the amount and let the seller know and ask he refund that portion of the money back to you.
Yeah, starting to sound like there is too much weight in either a 500gram or 3kg satchel.
did you pay by paypal?
explain to the seller it's going to cost $X as the the parcel was overweight.
and Can he reimburse you that amount.
yes i contacted the seller and he is aware of it, gave me his details etc…contacted the post office as well and they said it is a scam… just they got all my parcel locker details in that "scam " email…scary stuff… im going tomorrow and find out…let you guys know… Paula :)

maybe a scam-money order type? i pay,they get money and i get nothing…. just weird….

hi, the ebay stuff was fine, the "extra charge" was a scam email…i went there to check with them and they told me that its a problem they are having at the moment…
Seller didnt put enough postage on it, go to the PO they will be able to tell you how much it is before you agree to pay.
