Wanting To Cancel Kogan eBay Order

Yesterday I mistakenly clicked order button on ebay website for nexus 5x for a full price of $382. It was a genuine mistake when I though I am still on ebay site and I was already on paypal. I have immediately send them email of what I did and tried to cancel it however they replied something like they will try but not sure. Now I got an email they dispatched it already. How can I stop it, I do not want this mobile especially for this over inflated price! Thank you for all advice! :)

You double click you buy. As a eBay seller why should Kogan lose a sale because of your change of mind.

If only you took the time spent typing this post to read what you were clicking this post would cease to exist.

    Enjoy your new mobile.

  • please contact ebay and tell them about this , they may be able to re-credit the different back to you.

    • I will try to do that, but now dispatched, not sure if it is still doable… thank you for your tip mate :)

    Phone is fine

    • yes mate i know, my friends wanted to buy and i was only showing him the great deal with the code, but didnt punch the code instead clicked order :(

So now your "Friend" clicked order??

I'm pretty sure Kogan isn't gonna accept your story. I'm not saying you are lying but they would get this all the time.

thanks for criticizing you have no idea about circumstances, there was a noise in the room, multiple people talking and paypal somehow changed their website and I linked the account with ebay which I forgot about - I dont shop this way often, pehaps 2x year, so it happened! You never made a mistake in your life? :) I would certainly appreciated more constructive help. Thank you again! :)

    • yes I see, thanks, ebay site says that I can only start this procedure from friday 19th for some reason :) but thanks

      • Because the 19th is most likely the earliest it will arrive. You can't send back something you've yet to receive

It is easy to order accidentally with the revised checkout system. For your 'convenience' eBay have removed a step in the checkout sequence, and yes, it is easy to accidentally order before you enter the discount code. Unfortunately there is no way to stop the phone arriving now the seller has marked it as sent. All you can do now is try to initiate a return after you receive it.

    • thanks a lot mate, will do that, hopefully they will not smash me any restocking fees, maybe I will have to bite the postage - but if its like $20 to HKG, so be it! cheers :)

Edit: Actually Kogan says no returns accepted so that paypal paying the return fee won't apply.

Refunds when you've changed your mind
If you want to return an item because you've changed your mind, the item doesn't fit, or you ordered it by mistake (what we refer to as 'remorse' reasons), your refund amount will depend on the seller's return policy.

    Reject delivery.

    • Kogan will not automatically refund, but ask for correct address, and/or the reason for rejecting the delivery - back to square one.

    Snad.

    • nexus 5x ordered, nexus 5x shipped. would be plain silly to claim Significantly Not As Described. unless they shipped a laptop.

      • kogan has a habit of selling brand new items, but they ship new items that has been opened. that is enough for pp to consider the item a snad.

        • I will consider trying that, but I guess it's too obvious since we already exchanged few email w kogan back and forth :(

  • Stefanco, did the auction page state it was being sent from Hong Kong or did the page/postage information lead you to believe it was in Australia,

    • I believe it was from Hong Kong, but I received tracking number w auspost, little confusing but I believe coming from HKG. What is the difference? :)

i have seen their adds and it states from Hong Kong so really you have no hope unless it does not arrive,i believe a buyer can cancel a bid available for a short time after the bid is made and this is probably why it was dispatched so quickly, just remember the phone should be EXACTLY how it was listed including color,if it is not exactly the same as the one you ordered you may be able to go to ebay or paypay,"not the same as the one ordered",if everything fails you can list it for sale on "Gumtree or Allclassifieds (their is no listing or selling fees on both of these sites) another is "Oztion" which does have fees, you can also google "online auctions" there may be other auctions out there, best of luck,

        • I tried to cancel it immediately but the ebay button about returning was gray and not active. So I sent them an email about my mistake and wanting to cancel withing like 30 seconds after that happened… They responded after about 20 hours that they will try but will see… now already dispatched and they say sorry and no more communication from them. OK, lets hope it will arrive with a small problem so I can return it… Thank you for your help :)

  • Thank you very much again guys - to all that tried to help me! It seems like it is solved now, I've got an email from kogan - "as a gesture of goodwill, we will be happy to organise a return and a refund"… yeah!! Very good customer service indeed. Happy this is now over. Thank again to all! :)
