How long does an prepaid SIM work with Optus Perks?

I signed up for Optus perks with a prepaid SIM back in Feb and I've succesfully purchased movie tickets from their site. I tried logging into the Optus Perks site today and a message is displayed requesting that I register for optus perks. When I enter my email address the following message is displayed: "Looks like you don't have any active phone numbers or broadband usernames on the account at the moment. If you need some help".

    Depends which prepaid offer is selected as to how long til a sim expires.

    SERVICE EXPIRY
    To keep your service active you need to recharge 186 days from your credit expiry, otherwise you may require a new SIM card to use the service and you may not be able to continue using your mobile number. Also, if you’re activating a $2 SIM, your first recharge needs to be within the first 188 days of activation to keep your SIM and mobile number active.

    • Thanks, mate. I bought another $2 SIM today and activated it for a long expiry prepaid. Now to either recharge for cheap, or activate another SIM in 6 months.
