Mig Welder Gas Refill MIGSHIELD Air Liquide

My Mig Welder gas bottle (10.2m3) from Air Liquide has run out and I was quoted $330 for a swap. Presently I hire this bottle for over $150 a year.
I was wondering what are better alternatives. Gumtree has a listing in Canningvale Western Australia for new disposable bottles has anyone tried these?
I do enough welding to require the largest bottle. Any information would be grateful.

That must be a prick to lug around.

    • In the workshop, connected to the welder it is on wheels. However when we have to swap it over at depot its heavy to lift in and out of the ute.

$150 is not bad, for the 4 foot bottle i was paying 17/mth from BOC +96 for a fill…Bunnings have gas now with a built in regulator, but thst is the smaller bottle…repco have disposables, very small…i think your on a good deal…

    • Rent free is definitely the way to go.

I was going to try these guys out next, to avoid the rental fees. I only need to refill like once a year, so the rental is a killer. Not sure if you send back your bottle, or exchange it for a refill.

    • That's the cheapest I have seen what a shame they are not in Perth.
