PS4 1TB Console with Uncharted 4 Game $399 @ Target Starts Monday 22/8

750

PS4 1TB console with Uncharted 4 $399 - good deal for those who missed out on JB's sale of Limited Edition Uncharted 4 console for the same price around a month or so back.

Please note that the image is of the catalogue starting this Thursday 25th however the PS4 deal will be live in store from Monday.

Oh and the Deus Ex price will be live from launch on Tuesday but isn't really a bargain as such as JB is at the same price with a bonus steelbook.

Clearing just in time for the upcoming Sony event :)

    • This is under the assumption that they will stop selling PS4's when the new console is released.

      • I'd expect the standard PS4 to drop in price, and the newer PS4 Neo to be above the current price for a while once release hits. Probably best for retailers to sell what they can before that happens, or gets announced.

        • A "slim" PS4 has also been leaked today.

    • +2

From what I've read on the interwebs, Sony will keep selling the standard PS4 alongside the newer NEO flavour.

      • We all know which one sells better at that point.

        • No we don't - what if the Neo is $600 and the PS4 becomes $250?

        • @mgowen:
That's a whole lot of what ifs. People want the latest one. That is what we know.

        • @mgowen:

No we don't - what if the Neo is $600 and the PS4 becomes $250?

If it's $600, it is dead in the water. That's how much the launch PS3 cost in the US, and they were available on store shelves at only a few weeks after the initial launch shipment. The 360 was OOS for months and the Wii was OOS for years.

The EU/AU PS3 launch did not even sell out on day 1. You could walk in and buy it. You didn't need to preorder, or line up at midnight. You know you've screwed up when there's no shortage at launch.

If they really are selling a console for $600, then they've learned nothing from the past and will repeat history. The definition of insanity folks.

If your options are $250 and $600, that's a total failure of marketing. Not offering an in-between priced model would be very odd, because that's a huge jump. One costs well more than double the other.

        • @lostn:The 60GB PS3 release price in Australia was $999 way back in 2008. I bought a bundle with two games & an extra controller for $899 about 9 months after launch. This was a bargain deal at the time. I then had to buy a Std Def tv with a hdmi input to play it on (lol)

The PS4 was $549, & sold out immediately.

        • @spacecowboy: If xbox one s is $549 and sells well then I don't see why Sony wouldn't sell Neo $599 at launch.

  • +1

That one was a LE console bundle.

Though this one has a copy of the game you can resell.

It's a great game for showcasing what the console can do. It's absolutely gorgeous and it's hard to believe this game is running on a PS4, at 1080p no less.

But there's some PS event soon where the Neo is expected to be shown. I'd wait and see how much it costs and when it's releasing before buying this. Hold off as long as you can.

    • +4

I don't understand why there's always at least one person telling everyone to wait for the new PS, the previous 5+ PS4 deals posted on this site contained the same crap advice, what if we don't want to wait? What if we just want to enjoy life right now, as it is?

      • +6

You still have the option to buy now. This information hasn't changed that. But for people who would choose to wait if they knew this information, telling them is the only way to give them that option.

      • +5

Then buy it. No one's stopping you.

The risk is yours. The console could release next month for the same price for all we know. And this model could get fire sold and cleared out for even cheaper than right now. If you're happy getting it a month early but with inferior specs, its a decision for you to make. No one knows if this will end up being the case or if Neo will cost more, or if it's the same price but PS4 is phased out, or if the two models coexist side by side. That's why I suggest waiting until that info is released.

Since the announcement is coming very soon, I personally would wait. Not saying you have to but.

If you absolutely must play your PS4 now, it makes me wonder why you've waited 3 years already.

I personally would be kicking myself if I bought a PS4 a month or two before the next version releases. I bought mine at launch and I'm still kicking myself since I've barely played it, and soon all the games will look/run better than they will on my unit.

        • I already bought one from the last Big W Toy sale, and haven't even used it yet because of personal reasons, but I still can't wait to finally use it because I've wanted one for a while and can't really afford anything more.

Sony have already stated that they intend the new console to be purchased and played along side the existing PS, not replace it or make it 'inferior'.

        • @tranqme:

The existing less powerful PS4 will always be inferior though, since games will look worse and run worse than they do on the Neo.

        • @tranqme:

Sony have already stated that they intend the new console to be purchased and played along side the existing PS, not replace it or make it 'inferior'.

That's what you would expect a PR person to say. They aren't going to say anything that will scare you away from buying a current PS4.

Phil Spencer said Scorpio would be the price of a 'console'. A few days ago, MS said it would be a 'premium' product. Seems they changed their mind about it already. At e3, they said all 1st party Xbox games would also be releasing on Windows. A few months later they stealthily changed it on their website to say, only the games shown at E3 would be coming to Windows.

Point is things change all the time. It's best to wait and see.

If Sony keeps their promise, then you buy a PS4 when you find out they are indeed keeping their promise. I wouldn't assume they absolutely will.

The statement from Sony that I quoted from you is a contradiction in itself. If it exists alongside the existing PS4, it will make it inferior. Inferior to the Neo. There is no way they can do both things. What could happen is the Neo is $400, and the standard PS4 might drop to $300 or less if they are to coexist. In this case it would be even more reason to wait.

Because it is a blog and people like reading opinions and advice too?

        • One person's opinion is hardly advice.

        • @tranqme: I still wish be free reading about it…

Xbox one S Also has extra game with it's bundle

    • +5

7 Eleven are also offering a free donut this week, what of it?

    • Cokes on special at woolworths

  • +6

arrrhhh..if only i waited for anotehr month just to get this 1TB model ! I bought the 500gb+fallout4+ds controlller extra at big W T.T

    • +12

That was an awesome deal nothing to regret about.

    • +2

then you'd have lost a month of gaming. would that really be worth it?

    • +5

look at it this way, i got the 379 one from EB way back in June, if I waited any longer, my Uni break would be long over and I wouldnt have been able to play most of the games that I finished so far ;)

    • +1

There is always another bargain around the corner. Nothing wrong with the bundle that you picked up!

    • Extra controller is worth like $65. Aside from the crappy game they bundled that was probably a decent deal and I think fallout 4 would've had some resale value when you bought it.

    • +6

I bought ps4 december 2014 for $400. Could of saved $50 if i bought now but wouldnt have been able to game for 20months.

      • +2

        hahahaha I like this !

  • +1

When is next version, and is it worth waiting?

    • +1

Any day and people think it will be available next month. I think that's a bit optimistic but that's the word. Personally waiting myself as I want it as a 4K bluray player.

    • -2

Nah, this deal is great buy it now

    • +2

Earlier leaks had it at October with VR. Unofficial of course.

It's worth waiting, yes. This is not the first time the 1TB UC4 bundle has been $400. And it won't be the last.

Depending on what Sony does with the new model, this could become even cheaper if they're clearing them out. And Neo would be the same price as regular PS4. I'd say it's worth waiting at least until an official announcement, and then decide what you want to get.

The Scorpio is far enough away (~1.5 years) that getting the S model now instead of waiting for it makes some sense. If Neo ends up releasing in a 2 months, it's like buying an iPhone in August.

      • -2

But you can't play uncharted 4 with a Scorpio or S model. Or should I hold off on buying this PS4/uncharted bundle because the new iPhone is going to be announced soon?

        • I'm not saying you can. It was an example for illustration purposes.

If you want it now, buy it now. If it can wait, wait.

Or should I hold off on buying this PS4/uncharted bundle because the new iPhone is going to be announced soon?

Now you're just being an idiot.

  • Can anyone tell me how is the PS4 wireless headset as a PC headset?

    • +2

It is one of the more comfortable headsets that I've bought and lasts a fairly long time. I got my first one at $99 and my second at $69 and absolutely love them!

No idea what it is like compared to a $250+ headset but I think they're damn great.

      • Where did you buy it for $69?

        • Price matched the old Dick Smith clearance price ;)

  • What does it say about crash bandicoot? I can't read it very well on my screen

  • Hey OP, any idea if the 500GB Xbox One S will include an extra game as well?

Edit: Just read the description and looks like Target aren't doing the 500GB?

  • +3
  • Get a Wii U instead. Live on the edge!

  • I wait for the PS4.5 Neo even if I have to pay $150 more.
