They stopped manufacturing the current PS4 a while back, and have been making the new "slim" PS4 since. It is being unveiled on September 7, most likely for an immediate release.

They stopped manufacturing the original PS4 a month or so ago, and started manufacturing the new one, so it stands to reason that the new model will be available immediately upon announcement on Sep 7. If you don't want an answer, don't ask the question.

Great deal. After seeing the new PS4 Slim, I'd grab this version of the PS4 now as the new version looks like junk and has the optical output removed. It's clearly been made just to cut manufacturing costs for Sony and features no improvements beyond being slight smaller and will look like trash in your entertainment centre IMO. Alternatively, if you've held out this long, it might be worth your while to hold even longer for the PS4 Neo / PS4K (for a higher price) :D.
They always do this though. The ps2, ps3 and Vita have been - the slim models have always been cheaper lookin, with less features but they end up selling like hot cakes
there was also the PSOne which was the revised version of the PS1. That was one of the only decent updates to an existing PS IMO. Looked great.

Agreed. The PS3 slim was a huge improvement on the phat models IMO. And with much bigger HDD space I could download PS Plus games to my hearts content.

I dont think the new PS4k image has been confirmed by SONY yet, it doesnt remotely look real.

way better then the slim model. love my ps4fat. If you have a 4k Tv, best to wait out till 4.5 hits. Should be announced in September when Sony officially announce the slim model.
