decent price but I hate watches with that protruding winder thing. pokes wrist all the time

  • Great watches and thanks for the honesty about the battery, they don't last forever.

    • No probs, I'm not a rep by the way. Just a watch nerd.

Hi @SamR, the eco-drive battery life is dependent on wear. We had a farmer who came in to get a new eco-drive who just did not like the look of the watch anymore and who had been wearing his eco-drive DAILY for 30 odd years! His watch was losing 3 odd minutes a day. We have also had a watch back that was sold (by another jeweller) 7 years ago that had major battery issues. It required a full refurb. Other than complete movement failures, I would guesstimate a life expectancy of around 10 - 15 years. Thanks

  • Hi all. My sincerest apology but we have not as yet received our full allocation of stock from Citizen on the above model and there are currently only 2 more left in stock. We have been OZBARGAINED!! Once those 2 sell out, and we receive some new stock, we may be able to re-post. Thanks

    Make that 1….

    • Any chance of another deal on the Citizen Eco Drive BESTSELLER BM8180-03E?

  • Bugger… was gonna buy one

    • Sorry about that. We may receive some more stock in the next few weeks.

      • Can u pls lemme know then?

We will send you a PM as soon as the new stocks arrive.

        • @Star Jewels: thank u

  • I've got a Pulsar Solar watch which I understand uses a capacitor instead of a battery for storing power. Do they generally have a longer life than a rechargeable battery? Had mine since 1998 and when its been sitting in drawer for a while and has drained it only takes 20 secs or so in sunlight to get it going again.

    • The capacitator is a bit of a misnomer. The Product data sheet shows the rechageable battery type as a Manganese Titanium Lithium Rechargeable battery. I will try to dig out some more info on this and update. Thanks

      • Thanks. Product data sheet for the Eco Drive you mean??

        • Sorry no, the PDS is for the Rechargeable battery type. I will find the Citizen update on this and post.

While this is not exhaustive nor technical, its the marketing spiel on Eco-Drive. Definitely worth a look. http://www.citizenwatch.com/eco-drive/eco-drive-technologies…
