  • Killer specs!

  • Damn… Just got this from previous deal for $167 (220Aud) shipped few days ago.

  • Aaa. Give me Q5. I do not need Q10.

  • This or pay a bit extra for the nvidia shield?? Don't care about games.. I just need to add a local HDD as I have heaps of media files (don't have a NAS and I don't want to have my PC on when watching local content)..

Also don't really need 4k but want a future proof solution.. Will use Kodi and local media, thats about it…

    • Is your local HDD external USB or internal? This one supports an internal 3.5 HDD while Shield only supports external drives connected via USB.

  • I currently have a WD Live so it uses a internal non removable HDD.. I can copy existing media to a internal or external HDD.. My preference is to use a internal HDD but happy to go external if Shield is the better solution..

Does this unit do 4k Netflix? If not is there any plans for it?

    • AFAIK there no plans for 4K Netflix on this device. For that, you're better off going Shield. Shield also has recently added capability to be a Plex Server if that is important to you.

  • +1

If netflix 4k is ur buying point then get the shield but keep in mine the shield come with a game pad instead of remote. Remote extra $50.

I choose the himedia simply i use it for karaoke with local media in the Hdd.
ISO 3D is a plus too.
And the price is too good to pass.

I'll get the shield when the price is right.

  • The spec looks good, but it doesn't play .MKV/TS/TP files.
