After Recommendations for Small Battery Bank

Hi everyone, I am looking for a small battery bank in the tube style. I generally want nice quality, fairly cheap and possibly local. The Kodak one from Woolies seems alright but at $10 it seems high after buying a Xiaomi 12000mAh battery for $13.

Thanks for any recommendations and input.

after buying a Xiaomi 12000mAh battery for $13

I'm sure you didn't get that locally? Is there a specific reason you want the 'tube style' or do you want it for the sake of it getting it? If you are looking for a good quality power bank, that too locally and fairly cheap (assuming less than $13), that will be a pretty hard deal to make… I would suggest to get the Xiaomi 10,000 mAh power bank off Everbuying, they usually come down to sale for AUD $15-17 and they are very portable.

    • Yes the one I got for $13 was from Everbuying or Geekbuying. The reason I want that tube style is because I just need a physically small battery. Capacity wise, around 2000 to 3500mAh will be perfect for what I need.

There was a recent sale on on Kogan/Dick Smith selling a 2600 mAh power bank for $1 and free shipping. I assume that has been sold out, so not sure if the deal is still up. Tbh I would recommend searching eBay, however the only problem is that there are a lot of generic ones out there for $5-7 and they most likely won't do the job, so by wary when purchasing one from there. I have had one of the generic ones before and it barely charged my phone from 0 to 45% on a full charge.

Have you considered the Slim Xiamoi 5000 mAh power bank, it will be portable and just tad more expensive on Everybuying, but will be very reliable.

EDIT: Just read the comments below, so this probably isn't helpful

        • I would have bought that one from Kogan but it's back to $17 unfortunately.

Rather than the tube ones, I find the 5000mah Xiaomi power bank to be the most portable while not sacrificing too much capacity

It fits into your pocket easily, carries enough charge (twice more than the 2400mah lip-stick ones) and also, you can carry both your phone and the powerbank together in one hand or even put both the power bank and phone together into your jacket pocket.

    • I suppose I should have said that this battery won't be used with a phone as I have plenty of those thanks to OzBargain. It'll be used to improve the recording time of a camera so physical size is the biggest factor. Thanks for replying though.

  • Try Comsol Dual Port Power Bank, which is compatible with smartphones, tablets, fitness trackers, cameras, portable gaming consoles and MP3 players.
It has a high 2.1 A output for fast charging of your devices.
The Power Bank is ultra portable and can be recharged up to 800 times.
It has 4 inbuilt LED indicators to show the remaining capacity.
The built in over-charging and short circuit protection prevents damage to your devices.

Hi, the battery I ended up purchasing was the Verbatim 2600mAh one from Woolworths. It's perfect for what I needed it for. Thank you for the response though.

      • Sure No problem :)
