TV Shopping - What's Your Experience?

I'm always intrigue to buy an item on TV Shopping, either it's the Shark Vacuum, Bamboo pillow, any food appliances, weight-loss stuff, almost anything.
But I never actually purchase one because I am worried with the quality and return process.

Has anyone got good experience with the return process?
Has anyone got a good product to buy?

Wrong site to ask about experiences with TV shopping.

    You need ozunbargain

    Eg 5 second fix

    globalshop 5-second-fix 2 for $49.95

A very quick search on ebay 1 for $3.25

    💰

  • If there were ever any bargains from TV shopping, I don't think they ever found their way to the OzBargain front page.

Look for the same item on Google or eBay. You'll usually find it at a much lower price. It might just have a different brand name on it, like Kogan.

I've seen heaps of used items on Gumtree that came from a TV infomercial… apparently those items were not so useful after all.

  • hmm agree not many bargain over there but i remember saw a post years ago here about a DLSR camera that indeed a VERY good price and got ozbargained in few minutes.
    but yeah, RARE occasions.

    • Maybe that was an online-only clearance item after they couldn't sell it on TV? Also a DLSR might not be as good as a DSLR.

Often TV shopping offers unique, difficult to find product and tries to use a short window of opportunity to sell it at very inflated prices. This window is opened for a few weeks, maybe a month, and the same product starts to appear everywhere, much cheaper, often with "as seen on TV" label.

Recently I saw what looks to be a brilliant idea: "The Renovator paint runner roller", a refillable paint roller. They appear to be also selling in on eBay for terribly inflated price: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAINT-RUNNER-PRO-THE-RENOVATOR-GE… . Not available in Bunnings or other hardware shops, but first "non genuine" models are starting to appear on eBay, priced much lower: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Wall-Painting-Roller-Brush-Paint-…

    • Yes I saw this one, is it good?

In teh past I purchased some kitchen stuff, most are rubbish now…

      • Didn't buy it yet, but next time I have painting job, I will try the cheaper one from eBay.
