Reccomend a ODB 2 Reader

Hi guys, can anyone please recommend an ODB 2 reader for Audi A6 2006 - including one that can clear errors. Links to recommended sites would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Paaj

    • Thanks mate. Just jumped on to ebay and got one. I thought they would be $50+ but at $16, worth a go.

I use android "Torque" to link to mine via bluetooth.

  • Wouldn't resetting the ecu clear any error codes?

    • Torque is able to reset engine codes only if your ECU uses OBD2 to communicate errors. I know in my 01 commodore the gen3 v8's use obd2 for live engine data but still uses obd1 for engine codes so im unable to scan and clear. (Hasn't had any errors yet)

Sometimes once you've fixed an engine error code (faulty 02 sensor for example) the check engine light won't go away unless you reset it even though you've fixed the problem.

      • Sorry… forgot to simplify.. :-(
If he disconnected his negative battery for 10 min that would clear his error codes… AND would mean he would not have to buy an obdII device.. Removing the ecu fuse will achieve the same result, but you do have to put it back in when you want to start the car.
I realise torque ( even the free version) will clear codes.
