Where to Buy Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge?

I would like to buy S7 edge outright as getting it on plan turns out to be costly because of my limited usage. I'm confused between:

  • buying it from any store like jb HN etc with samsung aus warranty for ~ $1150
  • buying it from online store like kogan which gets it delivered with freight insurance in $880.

I would like to know members opinion on whether $270 is worth for aus samsung warranty. How are your experiences with claiming mobile warranty with kogan.

  • I know you said you don't want to join a plan, but some of the recent plans for the S7 edge have been pretty damn cheap for Australian stock. The recent Woolworths plan was $59/month for 3GB of data and unlimited calls/text. The plan is worth 59x24 = $1416. For an extra $300 you get your data/calls/text covered for the next 2 years. Unless you have a postpaid plan less than $12.50/month or use a long expiry prepaid plan, it's not a bad idea to join a plan.

    • if only it was still a active deal

      • oh right, it expired a few days ago.

Just wait for the next 15-20% off deal on Ebay and buy a grey model for $680-$700 and whack an Aldi sim in it - you'll be a mile in front compared with a plan.

Don't be put off by the regulars on here who will come out saying you're mad not buying locally because of the 2yr Samsung warranty. Fools with too much money and not enough sense…..this is OzBargain after all

    • you know , they say hope for the best , plan for the worst, 300$ in respect of having a extra year of peace of mind due to warranty , is relatively cheap , considering 700$ provides only 1 year of peace of mind.

Extra insurance / warranty is great - but only if the maths adds up.

Paying $300 extra for 1 extra year on a $700 product sounds like an insurance broker's dream… which constantly gets better (for the broker) as the phone is always depreciating.

    Got mine for 750 delivered
make sure you get the G935FD model for all the right aussie bands
Flashed Telstra ROM onto it and get VoLTE fine here :)

Bought it from eglobal and it was here within 3 days
I asked for them to send it express for free and they honoured it

Would use them again for purchases :)

In all honesty warranty isn't a huge deal to me when I h
Have never had an issue in the last 5 grey imports
if something does majorly go wrong, youve got chargeback options with your bank and paypal claim for 6 months so its a win win either way

Just steer clear of the crappy sellers

I couldn't recommended it enough, Grey import saved me well over 300 bucks
No import duties and DHL got it through customs at brisbane promptly

    • Was this an eBay deal or is this still available for $750?

      • Outside of ebay

  • Does anybody know what the actual differences are between the G935FD and other models?
I know the CPU is different but then can't tell which is better :(
Google is being difficult here, so would be great if someone savvy can explain.

    • I believw the D indicates it's the dual sim model. It can either have 2 sims at once or 1 sim and 1 microsd card.

    • There are a few differences
this one has ALL the bands we use for LTE in Australia
      Best phone ive ever owned
      935FD :) Galaxy s7 edge
