4 Gauge Car Audio Wiring Kit (Brand Beast / Super Cheap Audio)

Hi There,

I'm new to the car audio scene, so was wondering if anyone could give me some advise on purchasing a Wiring Kit.

I'm looking to get a 4 Gauge Kit and found these guys on eBay;

http://www.brandbeast.com.au/blue-2-channel-hyper-connection…

Would these cables be recommended or should I stay away from these?
They've had some good feedback from their eBay store (Super Cheap Audio)

Has anyone tried their cables?

Any thoughts or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

    Hey mate!

    I can't give any specific advice on THAT wiring kit, but I'm sure it would be fine.

    I've used about half a dozen different wiring brands including stuff from Bunnings and all have done the job fine.

    My only concern is the RCA cables. By all means try them out, they may be fine. I have had cheaper RCA cables introduce some unwanted alternator whine through my speakers.

    Unrelated, what gear are you installing in your car?

    • It was an impulse buy from Super Cheap Auto as I've been wanting to get some extra BASS in my car for awhile now, haven't gotten around to it till now.

      I bought the Fusion 8” 600 Watt Super Slim Active Subwoofer (CP-AS1080)
      https://www.fusionentertainment.com/car/products/active-encl…

      It's one of those under seat ones, so i'm not expecting much!, but hopefully it will help balance the audio in my sound system.

      Running an Alpine INA-W900E Head unit connected to stock Tweeters and Bose speakers.

      The manual said 8 Gauge Cables should be enough, though I want to future proof myself in case this sub doesn't do the job.

      • Haha buying just a sub will start you down a long path.

        I did the same thing and ended up with 4 speakers, 2 amps and a 12 inch 1000W sub.

        Good luck !

        • Haha Yup, this is where it all starts aye, just one Sub here, another there, then BAM!
          Next thing you know you a few grand out of pocket haha… sure been there before lol

  • looks like it would be fine.. Its the cheap chinese amp kits that are bad.

    I have a pretty big system i run 0 guage i bought from jaycar.

    • Yeah I was worried about that the most.
      I've read a lot of forums that mention you should be weary of cheap cables;

      • They advertise 4 Gauge and what you actually get is 8 Gauge as the tubing is thick not the copper.
      • Some also advertise at 100% copper, though they might use alloy/mix instead.

      I hope this place isn't anything like that.

      This brand "Hyper-Connections", I can't seem to find anything about them online.
      Even though their packaging (linkbelow) states their website is www.hyper-connections.com (site doesn't even exist).

      I wonder what Brand Beast would comment regarding to this.

  • 4 gauge is probably a little overkill for what you have like you said but you are future proofing yourself, I started off with one sub now have spent about 5k on it..

  • Thanks for the help guys, I ended up buying the 4 Gauge cables.

    I'll give an update on them when they arrive, fingers crossed their actually 4 Gauge as advertised.

    Appreciate the help.
