Xbox One S controller faulty, Mighty Ape customer service?

Hello there,

Anybody had any experience with returns through Mighty ape?
Jumped on an eBay deal adertised on ozbargin for an Xbox One S controller from Mighty Ape. Only had it for a day. Turns out the D-pad doesn't really work out of the box. The 'Up' button doesn't work at all. Clicks down but does nothing in game. Ive tried it on 2 windows 10 PCs I own and my friends Xbox One on a few different games. Doesn't work. Apparently faulty Dpads are really common from the forum perusing Ive been doing.

Sent an email to Mighty Ape. Been over 24 hours and haven't received a response? Is this normal for them? I read good reviews of their site on Facebook but saw a few reviews that basically said that if something goes wrong they pretty much ignore you. Thankfully Ive paid for the item with PayPal. Anybody had any experience with returns through Mighty Ape?

Honestly, I would just go direct to Microsoft…they're pretty good to deal with IME.

    • Thanks Stew. What's the best way to contact Microsoft?

      • Depends on what works best for you really, you can phone them, email them, or online chat with them…they are quite attentive to each IME, so just grab the contact details you want off their website & give them a yell! ;)

      • http://support.xbox.com/en-au/contact-us pretty much every controller of mine has been faulty, even the replacements.

        • That's a worry :-(

@FunbagsOfSatan: Conversely, we have eight controllers in total (4x 360 & 4x XB1)…the only one that had a problem was a preowned 360 one from EB Games, all of the others have been fine…I wouldn't worry too much. :)

        • @FunbagsOfSatan: i think its just a run of bad luck on my part. have had everything from broken buttons to headphone ports not working.

  • Dang, got through to MS live chat support. Very helpful and gave me a phone number to call. Mut be a us based number. It doesn't ring and Optus advises that the number is incomplete?

    • which chat did you use? there is one for people who help from the community and one for xbox staff.

Edit, seems the ambassador is for something else than

Mighty ape have been really excellent in the past for me, just give them a bit more time. Microsoft will also help pretty quickly too.

  • Use their live chat to get a more timely answer :)

  • Thanks guys. Finally got a response from Mighty Ape. Was going to call Microsoft Australia if they didn't by 3pm. Microsoft seemed quick and attentive by comparison. I just have to send the dodgy controller to some address in Sydney and they'll send me a new one. Was a bit worried by their slow response but will see how they go now with getting me a replacement. Cheers

  • Mighty Ape are awesome people. One of the nicest bunch of eBay sellers I have dealt with!
