  • Not available for Australia?

    • Worked for me right up to checkout, just didn't hit purchase

At what point is it denying you?

      • Same. Initially said available, then changed to unavailable in your region. From the sale/linked page.

        • Strange, I'm genuinely not having issues here on work pc!

Amazon account that's logged in is Aussie address as well, so it can't be that

  • Crap - Paid $7.00 a couple of weeks back from Humble Store. Oh well.

  • Currently unavailable
We don't know when or if this item will be available again.
This item is not available for purchase due to geographical restrictions.

As soon as I opened the page

  • The account I'm using does have a US address listed. Whilst not being the default address, it might be helping get this. So give that a shot (doesn't have to be a real address obviously!)

Thanks! worked for me, though I did live in the US for a few years, even though my address is set to back here, so not sure if that is why it worked.

      Cheers, this worked for me.

    • Going to try jumping through the hoops tonight. For some reason I feel like buying Quake II again instead of going through the shed to find the CD. Does anyone know of some good source ports for Q2 to make it shinier?

Make sure you use an address from a state that has no sales tax, e.g. Oregon and Delaware.

  • nah i cant do it i even have a mail re-directer i have used with amazon before even changed to google dns and still geoblocking I don't care hard enough to try anything else will find another (questionable) way

Thanks OP. I had to use a VPN and fake American address so that it would let me purchase it.

  • ok call me stupid i can change my default address but can't find a "country setting"

    • and i am specifically using Amazon.com not .au

      • Hey Dydydy, steeeevenk already answered this one for you.
        Log into Amazon.
Go to manage your content and devices
        Settings tab (far right)
Change your country settings to United States, choose a random address (I use a Vegas hotel address - 3000 PARADISE RD, LAS VEGAS, NV 89109-1283, United States)
        Purchase Doom
Change it back to Australia after (optional)

        Hope that helps.

  • worked for me, but I did open a US account years ago and changed it to AU address year or so later.

  • Thanks OP, purchased but waiting a 2 hour waiting period to verify my purchase… probably more to do with me adding in a new credit card seconds before purchasing.
