Virgin Premium International Lounge in Sydney & Diplomatic Passes for Customs

Hi all

How do i score access to Virgin international premium lounge and Diplomatic passes in Sydney? My mum, sister and her kids are flying to US in Oct and i thought it would be handy for them to have access to the premium lounge and priority treatment when they have to go through Customs.

Thank you

Virgin Australia don't have their own lounge at Sydney International - for VA flights to the US, they have an arrangement for eligible passengers to use the Air New Zealand lounge. To gain access to the lounge, passengers would normally need to be flying Business Class or have Gold or Platinum status with VA (and the same applies for getting the Express Path cards for customs). You can buy day passes (you'd have to purchase one for each person) to some lounges, but I'm not sure whether this option is available for Air NZ.

There is an American Express lounge at Sydney International, so if your Mum or sister have an eligible Amex card (usually higher level ones), that might be an option?

Diplomatic Passes - they will need diplomatic immunity

    • Lets just say i have had it before, it's nothing special. Just a tag to get you through customs quicker.

      • I think you mean Express Path Cards - there's no such thing as Diplomatic Passes, you need a Diplomatic Passport
