Can someone recommend a cheap laptop for Linux?

Hi all,

I was using an old x220 with Ubuntu Mate and quite happy with it, except sadly it got stolen.

I don't really need a fast machine, so I was wondering if there is some sort of cheap laptop which works well with Linux?

I'd rebuy the x220 again from ebay, but would prefer something new cause battery life and thinner.

There seem to be quite a few options in the 300-500 dollar range, but its not easy to tell which ones will work well with Linux.

As you can see, a lot of the Lenovo Edge series are supported. They are not expensive either.

For a portable Linux laptop under $500, I'll probably get a refurbished ThinkPad X230, upgrade to SSD, and you might still have some coins for a spare battery.
