Alternative Lotto Sellers

.
Is anyone using a lotto service apart from The Lott?

The Lott are having some price changes so I'm looking around and have noticed some new players in the market…

Some operators allow you to list only one game per draw and seeing as tho' i only have one set of favorite numbers I thought I might make some savings going over to them…

I used www.ozlotteries.com.au for a while and had no problems with them.

    • any issues collecting any wins?

None. But to be honest I didn't have any substantial ones, I think I topped out at $100ish.

        • no worries… thinking about it i can't imagine them being a different type of entity to The Lott…

lottoland, which is not an official lottery agency per se, but more like online gambling where you are betting on the outcome of the official lotteries and win the same monetary value. You can also play the big overseas lotteries.

Its essentially the same thing as a lottery. If you get the numbers you win, if only some you win x predetermined value etc. Its just that the payout comes from an insurance taken out from lottoland rather than the money made from the tickets.

The counter party risk is a bit different. If I win the $300million Texas state lottery I can be pretty sure Texas is good for it. If I win via lottoland, you might discover them/their insurer is not able to pay out.
        This is their office.

You are placing a lot of reliance on their assurance that their insurers are liquid.

        • hahaha good pickup… They look like very able financial services hahaha!

        • i've definitely heard of them having difficulty paying out before… i wonder how "the lott" is underwritten… golden casket was underwritten by the qld gov, maybe not now… I just did a quick search but cudnt find all…

  • Www.rslartunion.com.au - They are pretty cheap ($5 each) and you will get a chance to win a house in beach/hinterland. The good thing about this is the revenue generated from the lotteries is used to support the veterans and their families so you can be happy even if you don't win.
