EB Had Closed a Preorder and Ended up Restoring More Money Then They Should Have

A while ago I cancelled a preorder but part of it was trade in credit so I was forced to preorder something else. Today I went in to once again swap that credit to another preorder but for some reason it had been closed. The workers restored the credit but at the same time restored money from another preorder which I had cancelled and taken out the money for. I tried telling them that wasn't how much I had but they thought I meant I had more (as there was another preorder from last year showing closed but they weren't allowed to restore that) so I just went with it and I ended up with $100 more. Are they going to figure out this mistake or should I just leave it be?

Just email them and tell them about the problem. They'll probably give you a voucher or something free.

Better to be an honest person.

Reminds me of Frasier, can't remember the name of the episode. ATM error in Martin's favor, Daphne talks Martin in to returning the $20. In the end Martin end's up accepting $10,000 and Daphne opens an account.

    You have two options:

    1. Tell them about it. You may have to return the money. They may give you something. No guarantees.
    2. Don't tell them about it. They may figure it out and you may have to return the money. They may give you something. No guarantees.

If it was a little independent mom 'n' pop store - then absolutely, you should return it. Given it's a huge corporation that charges more than anyone else for games, and is well known for treating their staff like absolute shit… well I'll let you decide.

      Yeah, pretty well this.

    • As much as I kind of support this answer, but I think it also makes that counter staff's life hell when they do the calculations at the end of the day. If you were to return, I would return it to the store…talk to the staff who gave you that incorrect $100.

      • Yeah my main concern is really only if the employee gets in trouble, I couldn't care less about the company itself. And if they figure it out and take it back then whatever, it wasn't mine to begin with.
